Alan Wake's American Nightmare
This short game adds little to the Alan Wake story and franchise. It adds no new gameplay and nothing much of substance, though it acts as a nice little coda to the main game. If you enjoyed Alan Wake then, why not, play this, too. You can finish it in one setting.
Keep expectations low. The short story is inflated with annoying repetition (baked into the premise), and some character interactions and TV shows drag on way too long. One nice innovation is that it's less linear, with large areas for you to explore without loading screens. Unfortunately this cool feature isn't used to its full extent.
Also note that on "normal" difficulty it is a complete cake walk. I never ran out of ammo of my best weapon (it's plentiful everywhere) and didn't die once. It should probably be experienced in "nightmare" difficulty.
Meh. I did enjoy it, so here's a half-hearted thumbs up from me.
