Amaranthine Voyage: The Obsidian Book
This 4th entry in the series is a step up from the 3rd, but still not enough to be a good game.
The story is more exciting—although it's still confusing; who are these characters exactly?—and there's more polish to the design and animation. But the gameplay can be frustrating as often the point-and-click adventure puzzles have no logic at all. You'll end up having to just try using all objects in your inventory with everything in the world until something works, and even then you'll be left scratching your head as to why.
Will Eipix ever be able to restore the charm of the 1st entry in the series, The Tree of Life, or are we stuck with these confusing and illogical sequels? (Spoiler: it does not get better...)
One very weird aspect of this game is that one of the characters has a face that looks exactly like human buttocks. I can't even.
