Between Time: Escape Room

(curator)

Another fun first-person puzzle game from mc2games. This one offers a nice diversity of environments. The backstory is quite silly and the voice acting quite bad, but it does the job of moving you from one puzzle area to another.

(Forget the "escape room" marketing tack. This is not an escape room game. There are no environmental puzzles.)

The puzzles mostly require pattern-recognition and tend to be number-centric, though note that you don't need math beyond simple arithmetic. There are occasionally some annoying cultural assumptions about order being left-to-right. Another frustration is that sometimes puzzles need to be solved in a certain order, though there is little indication as to what it is. But patient and observant thinkers can surely finish the game on their own and enjoy the puzzles. None of the puzzles have time limits, so you can take as much time as you need.

If you really get stuck, there is an in-game hint system and an official guide that gives you additional hints without jumping right to the conclusion.

All in all, a satisfying little game for those who enjoy these kinds of puzzles!
