Endless Fables: The Minotaur's Curse

A mediocre Artifex Mundi game: the story is a thoughtless mix of Greek mythology with a half-developed back plot, entirely undeveloped characters, and dialed-in voice acting. It seems that at some point during development a bigger story was crafted, but it was shoveled half-way through, leaving us with dangling threads. I really, truly did not want to save that dwarf's life!

Oh, well. It's still Artifex Mundi: great visuals, smooth-as-butter gameplay, and fun hidden-objects scenes and mini-games. Ariadne's thread is a cool mechanic to use, although quite silly from any storytelling perspective.

This would be a terrible start for newcomers to the genre, but long-time fans would enjoy it, even as they roll their eyes at the story.

I would also like to thank the developer for supporting Linux, though I had some issues running with NVIDIA: I had to set the Steam launch options to LC_ALL=C %command%. Most Artifex Mundi games run without any problems on Linux!
