Hidden Object 6-in-1 Bundle
Good value for lovers of hidden-object games. The games are all somewhat old (some only support lower resolutions), and some are better than others, but the good ones are especially good.
Kronville: Stolen Dreams
A well-paced and relatively challenging casual point-and-click adventure, with many fun puzzles and a handful of hidden-object scenes.
The game takes place in an a town bursting with atmosphere, but there are "side quests" that will take you into fairytale realms. This variation in setting is handled well and keeps the gameplay intriguing.
The plot is thick and revealed slowly via clues and excellently directed cut scenes. The voice acting is a bit spotty, but overall does not damage the effective storytelling.
Recommended for fans of point-and-click adventures as well as hidden-object games!
Panopticon: Path of Reflections
This hidden-object adventure has good graphics, and exceptional animations.
Unfortunately, it is marred by a rather silly story, especially an unmet expectation: the "time machine" doesn't actually deliver on time travel, but instead takes you to other locations in the world. Disappointing.
Also note that in some puzzles it is very unclear what you're supposed to click and in what order.
Still, despite these flaws this game delivers the goods for fans of the genre.
Cruel Games: Red Riding Hood
A fairly short and quite easy hidden-object adventure. It won't challenge your mind, but is very easy on the eyes.
The story, thankfully, has little to do with Red Riding Hood, but otherwise doesn't have much going for it. Girl's boyfriend gets kidnapped by an insane criminal who leaves her with clues to find him for the final brief confrontation. I think that's the plot of 90% of hidden-object adventures.
The Lake House: Children of Silence
A wonderful hidden-object adventure, one of the best!
Most games in this genre has dreary, predictable stories, but The Lake House tells a truly mesmerizing tale, and wraps it all in perfectly matching graphics and music to produce the right atmosphere. Even the characters, apparently archtypical and boring, become something far more intriguing when woven into the story.
Otherwise it's long, full of fun puzzles and good hidden-object scenes.
Highly recommended!
The Other Side: Tower of Souls
This one's buggy! I hit a problem where I had to send my save file to Alawar in order to fix it and let me finish the game. It also suffers from ridiculously bad voice acting, and an annoying, bubbly user interface.
But it has wonderful, original, satisfying puzzles! Between point-and-click adventuring with time travel, various gizmos that you need to figure out how to manipulate, and more than a hundred scattered collectibles, you are sure to have fun with this one.
Mexicana: Deadly Holiday
This game is bursting with style and charm, from music to graphics to the wonderfully consistent portrayal of the world and its characters. There aren't many hidden-object scenes, and the puzzles are mostly trivial—some aren't even puzzles, just activities to keep you busy. But you will feel pulled into this alternate universe based on the Day of the Dead.
I found the game engine to be quite awkward at times: sometimes it's very unclear where you're supposed to click, even though you really are doing the right thing. Luckily, the "hint" button will show the right place.
