Invasion: Lost in Time

A good but buggy casual point-and-click adventure. The puzzle mini-games and hidden-object scenes are varied and satisfying and the fast-paced sci-fi story takes you to diverse locations and times. It's a bit silly, but still exciting! Graphics are excellent, but the music can get repetitive. There is no voice acting ... which is honestly better than the mediocre voice acting we tend to get in this genre.

The bugs seem to do with the clunky game engine. A few times I got stuck in a game mode and could not continue without restarting the game. Luckily, no progress was lost. Also, there are some flickering effects with the graphics. Nothing that ruins the game, but can get annoying. Also, the game will simply not work on a 4K resolution, so make sure to switch your desktop to 1080p before running the game. Finally, I don't know if this is a bug, but I found some of the time-sensitive puzzles to be extremely difficult. Could it be that my high-end computer is running them too fast? I persevered and conquered all except one of them, which felt truly impossible. Luckily, it's possible to skip puzzles.

Despite these issues I have to give this game a thumbs up due to its excellent content. Clearly, a lot of effort has been put into making this a gripping adventure. Now, please improve your game engine!

Note: There are in-game achievements, but they are not linked to Steam.
