Wonderful art design coupled with poor game design. It's essentially a media mismatch.
This is a puzzle game, but none of the puzzles are very good. They are all either tedious, trivial, or contrived. For example (it's not a spoiler) there's a Rubik's Cube puzzle. Sure, that's pretty hard, but it's hard just to be hard, not due to any delightful or clever design. And the pacing is way off: easy puzzles follow hard and back again. It feels as if the puzzles are arbitrary obstacles in the way of telling an art story.
Unfortunately, the story, if you can even call it that, is itself awkwardly nailed to the art design. I can't tell you what the narrative is, but worse: I don't care. There are no characters of any depth and barely any continuity.
When it comes down to it, the game is just one art scene after another, each with an arbitrary puzzle.
It would have been better off as a comic book.
