Joan Jade and the Gates of Xibalba

This casual point-and-click adventure has a surprising amount of depth and charm for how low-tech, low-rez, low frame-rate it is. There are nice puzzles and terrific music. Still, it's hard to believe this game was released in 2010! Its technology seems a decade older.

It's not just the technology is old. It's also very, very short for this type of game. And though the puzzles are fun, the same concepts repeat themselves over and over.

It's a nice little snack for fans of the genre. Just make sure you understand: it's short.
