The Looker

A hilarious, pitch-perfect—and fun!—send-up of The Witness and how seriously that game takes itself.

For the record, I'm a huge fan of The Witness and consider it a classic. That said, it can be quite oppressive and overly cerebral in its tone. It deserves at least some ridicule. :)

But The Looker is more than satire. It's actually a well put-together little game with non-trivial puzzles and mini-games, and as a whole can be interpreted as a homage as much as it is a parody. Clearly, Subcreation Studio could have created a complete "real" game if they wished. I hope they do so!

Strongly recommended for fans of the The Witness, if only as an opportunity to revisit the impeccable atmosphere and mindset of that seminal game.
