Those Who Remain

Awful.

Gameplay is going through a series of set pieces (levels) looking for items. Lots of opening of cabinet drawers. Sounds exciting, right? Then you get to judge people to death or forgiveness according to ludicrously superficial stakes. This guy did something really bad ... but he was going through some tough stuff himself. Wow, really makes you think, right? So deep.

I'm not sure which is worse, the writing or the voice acting, but both excelled at draining me of all delight. Also, I hope you like jump scares. You don't? Of course not, nobody does and it's the cheapest and most annoying way to do "horror". It's this game's only trick. Oh wait, there are also instant-death chase scenes. Not scary, just frustrating, and another fan favorite. Not.

It's also a technical mess. Something is way off with the contrast, making the bright lights just unbearably bright. Half of the time you can't see anything. The camera is wonky as hell and will produce stuttering no matter how powerful your rig. And the physics are right out of Goat Simulator.

Skip this, please. It is really really bad. I like to support indie devs, but in this case I think they are mocking us. Not only do I want my money back, but I want an apology, too.

And don't trust most of these positive reviews. They smell inauthentic and paid. Steam has a rat problem!
