Timpu's Treasure

A sweet, weird, and often funny story. Unfortunately it's impossible to recommend this game due to its oddball gameplay and many bugs. You will spend more time trying to understand how the game wants you to play it than actually collecting the items. For such a short game, that's just unacceptable.

The game design decisions make no sense. It is not, despite its presentation, a point-and-click adventure, but rather a collecting game. "Interacting" with items does nothing obvious. You don't do anything with them, nor do you take them. Instead, you ... make a note of them? Even though you've already seen them? And you can only make a note of two items at the same time? Also, much of the small game world is locked to you until you collect specific items, for no in-game reason. Just ... because. There is no connection between the area and the collected item.

Bugs include: getting stuck in the scenery, being able to move outside of the enclosed game world, and many spelling mistakes. Also, sound volume is very low, even when set to maximum in the game settings.

The developer has clearly released this game for sale before it was ready. If I had not received it for free in order to review it, I would have requested a refund. Paying customers are not beta testers.

There's some obvious talent here, and I do expect good games from this developer in the future. But poor design choices make this particular game almost unplayable.
