Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion
A cute little experiment with a nice soundtrack. Can be completed in a couple of hours.
There's a germ of an idea here for a more complete adventure game, but perhaps it's just the right size for its potential. The world is wacky and funny but barely fleshed out. There's an intriguing secret reality underneath, and a plot twist, but that trajectory has nowhere to go in a game this short. And, well, maybe it goes as far as it should.
It plays as a top-down metroidvania with little depth and originality. Just some stuff to do. Minimal combat, a few simple puzzles, collectibles, and that's it. It does woosh by smoothly enough, although there was one boss fight that I hated a lot.
All in all, a creative little morsel that won't offend and may make you smile, even laugh.
